Where to Start
One of the first steps in earning your GED certificate is learning about the rules in your State. Each State has its own guidelines and cost. Some important GED requirements are age requirements and retake policies.
Age Requirements
In order to get your GED you do have to be 16 years old. Some states will require you to be 18 before you can get your GED. There are age waivers that can allow the age requirement to be waived in some States.
Retake Policies

If you are a verbal learner, try different techniques that involve speaking and writing. For example, talk yourself through procedures or read out loud. repetition.

The Big Day – Test Time
Prior to your GED test, you will have to register an account on the GED website. Once registered, you can then choose your testing location and time.
Make sure to get plenty of sleep, and eat something prior to your test. This will help to ensure you are feeling your best.
To complete all four sections of the test it would take you 7.5 hours. Many people like to break the sections up. We have broken down the amount of time each test takes below.
