The English and language usage section of the TEAS exam consists of 28 questions and you will be given 28 minutes to complete. (16% of total TEAS exam.)
This section of the TEAS exam will include questions that will test your ability to answer questions related to
- Conventions of standard English
- Knowledge of language
- Vocabulary acquisition
- Pre-Test questions

Below are the key topics you will need to know prior to taking the TEAS english and language usage exam.- The eight basic parts of speech used to construct sentences: nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions and interjections.
- Spotting grammar mistakes: subject-verb agreement mistakes, run-on sentences, pronoun issues (deciding whether to use nominative, objective or possessive), apostrophe mistakes, misplaced commas, unclear pronoun use, misplaced modifiers and more.
- Word-pairs: understand proper use of words. who vs. whom, which vs. that, good vs. well, fewer vs. less, farther vs. further, affect vs. effect and more.
