When will I receive my scores?

You will be able to see your scores online about 3 hours after you finish your test.

If I don’t like my score, when can I retake the GED exam?

You may take each subject of the GED test 3 times without any waiting period. After the 3rd attempt, you must wait 60-days after your last attempt before you can take the GED test again. The first two retakes will be $20 only if the retakes occur within 12 calendar months. Any additional retakes will be $40.

What happens if I already passed some sections on the GED^®?

Unfortunately, all of the scores prior to January 1, 2014 have expired. You will have to start over and take all subjects again on the new computerized version. All test scores after January 1, 2014 are retained in the system.

When will I receive my GED transcript or diploma? 

You should expect to receive results in the mail within four weeks from your test date.

Can I take all 4 GED tests in one day?

Many local testing locations offer testing in either the morning or afternoon. While it’s possible to take all 4 GED tests in one day, we don’t recommend this plan. Each GED test is long and can be tiring afterwards. You’ll want to take some time after each test to freshen up your brain muscles. 

How much time will I get to complete each subject on the GED exam?

The entire GED test will take 7 and 1/2 hours to complete in its entirety.  Below is a breakdown of timing for each subject: 

• Reasoning through Language Arts – 150 minutes (including a 10 minute break)
• Mathematical Reasoning – 115 minutes
• Science – 90 minutes
• Social Studies – 90 minutes
