The Quantitative section of the GMAT exam entails content and analytical material of foundational mathematics topics such as algebra, geometry, arithmetic, and number properties. Typically, you’ll get two kinds of questions in the quantitative section:
Data Competency
Data competency contains questions with two informational statements. Your goal will be to identify if the statements offer adequate information to answer the question. This type of question requires you to quickly determine what data you would need to solve the problem and to cut down your choice of answers promptly.
Problem Solving
Problem Solving is one of the most popularized standard exam questions. You’ll be given a question with five possibilities. This section utilizes high school level mathematics like algebra and plane geometry to evaluate your critical thinking.
Strategy to Answer Questions
You will have to solve each equation and highlight the suitable answer from available options. Data competency problems, for instance, comprise of questions with two or more statements. Your task will be to interpret and finalize a decision if the information presented in a particular statement is competent.
Only utilize the information present in the statements rather than include data from other sources. Furthermore, use your mathematical and factual knowledge to solve each problem with the best of your ability.
