The DAT refers to a computer-adaptive test that takes place throughout the year. DAT evaluates academic skills, scientific information, perceptual ability, and reading comprehension of the test-takers.

Is there a limit to how many takes you can attempt the DAT exam?

Test-takers are free to retake the DAT test more than three times. However, the waiting period is 90 days to take the exam again. Also, you will have to pay the cost of the application fee for the retake. Test-takers who attempt the DAT three or more times will have to take official permission for a retake.

Does it cost a lot to take the DAT? 

Although DAT’s total cost may seem a lot at first, you should know that it includes unofficial, personal, and official reports. Furthermore, your designated dental schools also receive a copy of your official scores. Nonetheless, you should be cautious about taking the test repeatedly and make your first attempt is the final.

Where will you have to attempt the DAT test?

Prometric administers the DAT exam at official Prometric test facilities. Once your application receives approval, you will get an e-mail or a letter to call visit their website or call the contact center to schedule the test. However, your selective test center will need to get DTS authorization to confirm the scheduling. Remember, individual local community test facilities do not have the authority to schedule, cancel, or reschedule appointments.

What makes a good DAT score?

Technically, if you get a 75th percentile score, it equates to the better or same score as other 75% DAT test-takers. You can see this percentile in the unofficial score report, which is audited for authenticity prior to official scores.
