Find out how ready you are for your TABE test!
Mathematics
The Mathematics section of the TABE evaluates your math skills in subject matters that are relevant to adults such as work, education, and general life skills. TABE 9&10, for instance, utilizes three different math tests to evaluate your computational, Advanced-Level Algebra/Geometry.
Your combination of scores represents the cumulative mathematics score. The entirety of the math section tests a variety of skills that range from straightforward mathematical concepts to advanced-level equations. Also, the criterion for a reference-based score applies only to the computation math portion of the Survey test.
Required Skills and Subsets
- Applied Math: When it comes to the Applied Mathematics subset of the test, you will have questions with adult-oriented contextual significance and familiarity. You will, for instance, get questions related to household repair activities, shopping comparison, household budgets, or even recipes.
Test-takers have the chance to showcase their skills in the context they understand best. In fact, it’s not so far off from the Reading portion because the Applied Mathematics subset also involves quantitative literacy.
It is vital to realize that these types of questions are in direct contact with adult exposure and their daily lives like schedules, maps, and sales receipts.
- Computational Math: The Mathematical Computation subset revolves around low-order and high-order quantitative operations. Your task will be to offer a suitable representation through your computation capabilities.
